In the mid 90s, lara croft was introduced to the gaming world as an intelligent archaeologist in pursuit of a mythical teasure- the scion.

Such a bold character known for globe-trotting, gymnastics and resourceful survival skills, evolved into someone whom we have grown to love.

But character as lovable as lara was paling in comparison to younger and more modern characters.Mainly because Lara was more of an iconic hero rather than someone whom you could relate to in general.

Tr:9 , an origins story was made to change that perspective and cater to a wider range  of gamers.

The dual wielding heroine is back. This time equipped with a more grittier look and a emotional driven storyline. This  bold new move to reboot the already successful franchise will lead fans and newbies into a world in which we never seen lara exploit.

Centered around a survival themed gameplay, tr 9 focuses on her very first adventure. A reimagining of her past that doesn't start with her signature twin pistols. Instead, a 21 year old lara who recently graduated from college embarks on an adventure to find treasure.

Her plans were cut short when an unexpected storm breaks the endurance ship in half, washing lara overboard. Drifting further and further away from salvation. Leaving Lara stranded on an island with a group of unfriendly civizilians banding together to kill her and the remainder of the endurance crew.

In this game, Lara's more vulnerable, inexperienced and frightened.She goes through a series of harsh challenges often resulting in tears,bruises and injuries. Lara's main goal to escape the island. Instead of finding treasure and kicking ass, the game focuses on exploration.

possibly a new voice actress for lara?

Recent interviews have proven that Lara croft's voice actor heard in trailers and gameplays was just a placeholder and that they are still searching for someone who could project lara's voice. Since the reboot takes lara back to her early 20s, keeley hawes will not voice lara. Instead, rumours have been flying that camilla luddington will be the new voiceover.

But  its not a  rumour anymore. It's been confirmed, just recently.
